The rights of the President of the Republic of Poland in cases of granting Polish citizenship and renunciation of Polish citizenship have been increased.
The president may apply to organs, organizations or institutions of his choice for information that may be of significant importance in the matter of granting Polish citizenship. Bodies, organizations or institutions are required to provide written information within 30 days of receipt of the inquiry. In particularly justified cases this period may be extended to 3 months, about which the body, organization or institution obliged to provide information notifies the President.
