Voivodeship Offices typically collect stamp duties when submitting applications for Polish citizenship. As a result of changes to stamp duty regulations, stamp duty fees for Polish citizenship cases will increase from August 1, 2025:
- Confirmation of Polish citizenship – currently PLN 58, from August 1, 2025 – PLN 277
- Recognition as a Polish citizen – currently PLN 219, from August 1, 2025 – PLN 1,000
- Granting Polish citizenship (application filed in Poland) – currently NO FEE, from August 1, 2025 – PLN 1,669
- Renunciation of citizenship (application filed in Poland) – currently NO FEE, from August 1, 2025 – PLN 1,669
The increase in stamp duty fees for Polish citizenship confirmation and recognition as a Polish citizen is clearly visible. However, in matters concerning the granting and renunciation of Polish citizenship, a stamp duty was introduced in an amount only slightly higher than the consular fee collected by consulates (EUR 360).
