New Passport Act
On March 27, 2022, most of the new Act on Passport Documents of January 27, 2022 will come into force. Under this Act, a new electronic system for handling passport matters will be introduced - the Passport Document Register, which will operate within the State Registers System . Due to the introduction of this system, it will no longer be possible to submit paper passport applications as officials will complete the applications electronically in the new system. The applicants will also sign them electronically. The possibility of verifying the validity of passports by citizens will also be made available, and the loss of a passport will be possible via e-puap. It will also be possible to apply for a passport for a minor child, provided that one parent has given their consent electronically.
