Methods of submitting declarations in matters of Polish citizenship
From 10 November 2022, in accordance with Article 9 of the Act on Polish Citizenship, declarations referred to in the Act, in matters related to the acquisition or loss of Polish citizenship, shall be submitted:
- in person for the record before:
- the voivode competent for the place of residence - from a Polish citizen residing in the territory of the Republic of Poland and from a foreigner staying legally in the territory of the Republic of Poland, excluding residence on the basis of a visa or in visa-free travel,
- the consul - from a person residing abroad;
- by correspondence with an officially certified signature.
As you can see, it is now expressly stated in the Act that declarations may also be submitted by correspondence with an officially certified signature. Previously, applications for granting or renunciation of Polish citizenship could be submitted in this way
